About Us
Vivekananda Mission Asram, an initiative by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Belur together with disciples and philanthropists was founded by Sri Brahmachari Vaktichaitanya in 1956 at Chaitanyapur (Haldia) on the ideology of ‘Serve God in Man’ as propounded by Sri Ramakrishna and followed by Swami Vivekananda. The Asram was established on 3rd August 1962, in Rampur, a remote village in Midnapur District of West Bengal, India. Though it was constructed at the site of a crematorium, it subsequently became a temple of learning for the underprivileged.
