VMA has set up a Free Residential Co-Educational School for the blind and also several educational institutions across the State to provide basic education to these under-privileged children of the soil. VIVEKANANDA MISSION ASRAM SIKSHAYATAN (VMAS) is one of VMA’s units with the motto of “The idea of all education and training should be man-making.” With this ideology, students are encouraged and trained in physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual growth.
It is a Self financed Primary and High School located at Viveknagar, P.O. Chaitanyapur (Haldia), Purba Medinipur, Pin – 721645 comprising of special Co-educational Pre-Primary Section, established in 1976, a Primary Section, established in 1980 and a High School for boys, established in 1982 affiliated to the WBBSE in 2005. With over 1700 students, the school is adjudged as one of the best Bengali Medium Schools in the State with English as the 1st language. The school lays emphasis on Sports and Cultural activities, besides education, in tune with Swami Vivekananda’s ideology for building strong and healthy body and mind.
